"Is that what you was talking about?"
The question radiated through the dark hallow stone walls, and soon a slender female figure slithered out of the darkness. Her ice cold blue eyes caught the sight of the one she questioned, and she moved ever so lightly to his side.
He gave a slight nod, his jade-green eyes not moving. "That's her," he simply replied, his voice holding authority. The young woman moved her snow white hair behind her ear to get a better look at the young man's obsession.
When she got a good look, she crinkled her nose in disgust. "You could have made a better choice Neroh, she doesn't look like she can handle much," she spat, her pupils growing to slits in annoyance. "Just look at her; she's human, obviously a loner, and--"
A loud snarl interupted her ranting, shushing her up and forcing her to look at her superior. His once dull green eyes shone bright with anger, and she took a step back in responce.
"It's none of your business anyways, Nemoie," he spoke with a dark, menacing tone, "it's not like I chose this mortal in the first place."
Nemoie stayed quiet, silently taking into account what Neroh had just said. "Had no...choice?" she hissed in astonishment. "You mean, a proceidure had...?"
"Yes," he answered simply, looking back into the mirror on the wall. "I have no choice."
Nemoie gritted her teeth together, her small polished horns on her forhead glowing red at the tips. "Mortals are such fools, signing their life away like this.."
"Foolish, yes," he added with an indifferent tone, "but that's how life is. I'll just have to indure this."
Nemoie caught the mischeivious tone in his voice on his last statment. "Neroh, do you have you're own intentions for accepting this as well? I mean, I know you had no choice, but you look like you have your motives..."
She stared at him as he fell silent, confused of his attitude. At last, a dark chuckle escaped his lips and filled the halls.
"Maybe, Nemoie," he replied, "after all, the price to pay for this to a mortal is their soul."
Nemoie shuddered at his sudden tone. He turned around and headed back from the direction he came from, patting Nemoei's head on his way out. She watched him wave a good-bye to her as the moonlight highlighted his black hair.
"Maybe I am." he said at last, and vanished into the darkness.
