Acedia...
As the young, petit girl looked threw the window, she thought what she was about to do. Beyond the translucent glass was the sun setting, it steeping the nearly dark sky as it sank to the horizen. No one cared for her, no one loved her. Most of all, no one was there for her...
The girl was born in an orphanege, not too far outside of Castle Upon Tyne, England. She was around 20, done with school, and had the poorest job, so the mistress of the orphanege let her go, mainly because the girl was her least favorite.
Now she stood, absent minded, all the sadness, loathing, and pain finally gone because of that one last thing in the sky that not even the madness of humanity itself can destroy, can take away from her.
The sun was the only one on her side now, and now it called for her, telling her not to do what she was about to do, urging her to keep trying. But there was nothing let to try. She failed in her life, so she believed that when she died she would be forgiven by God, and be reborn for once happy.
So she did what others expected her to do, she walked to the sun, and finally, over the edge of the open window, down five stories from her old orphan bed room.
...so she fell not up but down, down seven stories until she reached a place, a place that Dante's Inferno couldn't even describe clearly. There was no flames like what video's, gaming systems, and literature described, it was dark, lonely, fearful. Something so terribly painful to the mind that even the most strongest outspoken person in the very face of the Earth...no....the Universe itself, would break down and cry.
So this girl was too sad to hold it all in, and she cried, cried that she killed herself, cried for saying "Why me?" every day, cried for ignoring the starving children around her who were in the brink of death and even more poor than herself. Her lips opened.
"I deserve this." she said, spitting herself.
Yes, she did deserve it, she deserved it for giving up. But what everyone though most, including me, was this, how could such a loving, caring, painful girl, go to hell?
I was there when it happened, sitting on a chair near the wall, looking at her, legs folded, arms crossed, no expression. I couldn't do anything for her...I tried to save her from the devil.
So my eyes shimmered as her blood spilt the bricked and dirt floors below, another one of the innocence dead, and all because I couldn't do anything about it...I wasn't in right mind able to...it wasn't my job....I wished it was...
Murder is a sin, suicide is murder.
Death to thy self, the cousin of murder, is a sin...
Good bye, Trishia, I will always remember you...
Love, Karin.
