A growing woman sat, silently, next to her bedside phone. Her eyes stayed glued to the plastic object in front of her, forcing herself not to pick it up and dial the number. Against her will, she plucked the receiver from the base of the phone, and dialed a certain number, only to quickly slam the headset down. She sighed.
She never knew love until she met him.
A young man sat in the middle of his family's living room, cell phone in hand. His thumb pressed the seven digit number, just as it did countless times that night. He paused, sighed, and snapped the phone shut. A groan escaped his lips, doomed to repeat the same exercise over again.
He never knew life until he met her.
He looked to his right, a smile painted across his gleeful face. His pinky finger swung to and fro, hooked in with hers. His heart skipped a beat as she caught his eye, and he quickly looked away, embarrassed to look at his life.
He never loved until he met her.
She walked beside him, her pinky also locked around his, swinging back and forth as happy as could be. She glanced over at him, her eyes washing over his gentle features just as he looked away. A pink hue spread across her cheeks, too bashful to tell him she loved him.
She never lived until she met him.
Mwah! The young woman giggled a bit as she planted a tiny mark atop her man's cheek. She smiled, toying with his finger with her own as they continued on down the street. She looked back over at him, bashful still, and smiled. Her petite lips curled, tugging at her features, looking ever so cutely, up at him.
She longed only for him to crave her.
He blinked, not expecting the tiny peck at his cheek, pink and red roses blossoming across his face. He turned to her, smiling softly, adoring her. Scooting closer to her, he bumped her playfully, letting his own pinky fondle hers. He chuckled delightfully as they strolled down the street.
He craved only to be longed by her.
Bang! He gasped. Spinning around, in front of her, he shielding her from the dangers of society. His body felt cold against her warmth, only the strength of his emotions towards he held him up now. Another gasp. He fell to his knee, his arm still wrapped around her waist, and slowly closed his eyes; too weak to say I love you.
He never knew courage until he met her.
She froze, stricken with fear as he clung to her. Her arms wrapped around his limp torso, holding his shell against her rattling body. Soft make up smudged as she struggled to find a voice to speak, strength to help, the words to say I love you.
She never knew pain until she met him.

Just a little romance i put together awhile back that I decided to put up in the Arena. I've been told it has a poetic feel to it, yet it isn't really a poem, so I'm not sure where I should have posted this. Oh well.
