• I was feeling extra peppy for the first day of school, which was unusual. I hated school. I mean, I got normal grades, had friends, etc, etc. I just hated going. Yet, I was excited to go to school today.
    "Rumiko! Get to school!" I heard my mom shout. I smoothed out my uniform, and headed towards my door.
    I bounded into my school. That day, I was just a little bundle of sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. I was in my own little world until--SMACK. I found myself on the ground. I looked up. Oh God. Not him. I thought. My over-peppiness was about to get me murdered, because I just happened to run into the toughest guy at my school, gang-leader Hiroyuki Ishikawa. I was about to open my mouth to scream, but I stopped myself.
    I heard screams of "Oh my God! Oh my God! Ruu-chan is going to die!". It was my two best friends, Kenji and Aoi.
    "Uh....I'm so sorry..." I managed to get out, after a long period of silence. I expected Hiroyuki to attack me, so I protected my face with my hands. He just laughed. What in the heck is going on? I thought.
    "Don't worry," he said, smiling. "Its cool."
    Everyone who had witnessed the incident was in shock. Hiroyuki was known to put a person in the hospital for so much as grazing his side. I had just nearly knocked him over, and he just shrugged it off like nothing happened. I just stared at him for a moment.
    "What the fu--?" I said out loud.
    Hiroyuki's smile never faded. "Why do you say that?" he said.
    "I just... I mean... You.... Oh sh--." I stammered. At that moment Hiroyuki laughed, and everyone laughed with him. He noticed that I was still on the ground.
    "Need some help?" He said, sticking out his hand.
    I reluctantly grabbed his hand, and he pulled me up.
    "Are you okay?" He asked me, still smiling. I almost fainted. Hiroyuki might have been a hot-headed idiot, but he was still gorgeous.
    "Uh... Yeah, I'm okay." I stammered.
    "Good." he said. "It'd be a shame if a pretty girl like you got hurt."
    What. The. Fudge. I thought. What is going on?
    "I think we're in the same class. May I walk you there?" he said.
    I was still confused. Hiroyuki was gorgeous and all, but i didn't like him in that way. But still, I wasn't about to refuse this offer.
    "Err, okay." I managed to say. Hiroyuki smiled even brighter.
    "Thanks." He said, and off we went.
