Walking drearily along the sidewalk, Heather McCormick, wearing a gray striped jacket, a black tee, black converse, and ripped blue skinny jeans, had become drenched by the rain. "Hey there beautiful." she heard from behind her. She turned and a hand grabbed her. A man in all dark clothing would not let go of her. "Get off of me!" she shouted. She forced her arm free and ran through the forest. The man was close behind her. She ran straight into a construction zone and into a ditch. She figured she must have hit her head hard as it seemed that she was falling forever. She fell down, down, down. This was unbelievable. She could not have been falling this long. The underground had disappeared and now she could only see sky. Now she fell up, up, up. The world flipped and she fell to the grassy floor. "Poor girl gone and lost her way." she heard. She stood up and looked around, looking for any living person. She saw no one. "Hello, down here." the voice said again. When she looked down, she saw a cat with purple streaks of fur. Having read Alice in Wonderland, she knew where she was, but to be sure. "Where am I?" she asked the cat, feeling insane. "Wonderland." the cat replied. Now she was sure. "You must be the Cheshire Cat." she said. The cat stared at her. "No I'm the Lindbergh baby, of course I'm the Cheshire Cat," he joked "follow me."
After about a half an hour of walking, Heather found herself in a dirty city. It seemed like it was up off the ground. Many people were walking the streets, despite the fact that there was nowhere to go. Cheshire led her to what seemed like the only building that didn't have a barricaded door. "He's in here." the cat said. Heather did not know what that meant, however, she opened the door. Inside was a lone chair, but it was not empty. "I see the cat found you." came a British voice. It presumably came from someone in the chair. It swiveled around and there was a man. Black jacket, black pants, black shirt, black shoes, and a checkered hat with skulls in every other black square. "State your name." the man said. He leaned closer and Heather could now get a closer look at his face. Brown hair that seemed to be spiked in front of his eyes and around the hat everywhere else, blue eyes, and had five o' clock shadow. He had to have been in his early 20's. "Who are you?" Heather asked. He took off his hat and said "Call me the Mad Hatter. I run the tea shop." "Tea shop?" Heather questioned. As the Hatter was about to answer, the door burst open. Two knights in black armor pulled out their swords. "Stop. You have violated the law. It seems you've been smuggling refugees Hatter." one of them said. "Run." Hatter shouted. The three of them, Hatter, Heather, and the Cheshire cat, ran through a door in the side. The knights were close behind. "Do you trust me?" the Hatter asked Heather. "I don't know why, but I do." She replied. Hatter grabbed her hand and they jumped off the city, plummeting down to the ground. Down, down, down.
