A fierce wind blew throwing pieces of shattered paper into the air. And a sweet smell of blueberry's lingered on the papers leaving a scent of rusted oak, dried ink and nicely cooked blueberry pie. But it was quite odd at how serene things were right now, no sound, no people, nothing. Only that of a small girl laying herself down on some cool lightly shaded grass. Her brunette hair having strands of blond in them as it covered her face. She was considerable pretty only looking about the age of fourteen. Maybe even fifteen. Though, her white dress seemed to hug her waist as if it was too small on her. A pink colored flower was placed on the palm of her hand, her fingers twiddling the stem around like a wheel. It smelt so fine, and fresh, but she stopped when the pieces of torn paper flew down onto her face. Covering part of her eye. Green eyes blinked a few times before the girl pushed the piece of paper off her face. What is this?, it was a simple thought, not one a person would expect to think or even begin to say out loud. It was more so like a lazy gesture.
The girls name was Maribelle. Maribelle Mayweather. An odd name for a girl. Well the Mayweather part. She slowly rose crossing her legs as she pushed the shattered pieces of paper off her body, then pushed her bangs out of her face. Maribelle's eyes were only half-way open, for the girl was utterly tired. She wondered why she was here, sitting in the middle of the field laying down for what seemed like minutes turned into hours. One would ask, where were her parents? Why was she Just sitting? Well that is the mystery. Isn't that what life was about? A mystery? Oh yes, It was. At least that's what Maribelle thought. She smiled to herself rocking her body back and forth as she giggled lightly, her laugh getting louder and louder each time. Till it turned into a crackle. Maribelle stood up fast, twirling her body around and around screeching her eerie laugh out to the sky as if she wanted to be heard.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
It was then till a few moment's later that she stopped suddenly, a faint melody started to play. It drifted throughout the field like a lure of some sort. But Maribelle simply stood standing. Never moving from where she stood, just lifting her head every now and then. Finally after a few minutes had passed, she fell back towards the ground making her fall into a deep dream, a daydream you could call it. For she was not really alseep and her eyes still stood open. She just tore her eyes towards the sky imagining a place where hurt and pain never existed. Much like an Utopia.
What?....why is the world so hurtful? pain? what is it really? There are many things I tend to question. But the one thing I ever wonder is...why do people dream? dream about a fantasy place deep within their mind yet they know it will never happen. I get so confused on why this world can have people like me....I remember their was a time....a time where no pain existed...That was a nice place. I would of liked to just visit their at least once. Just one more time. Maybe if I close my eyes I will see it again.
The colors in the sky, the brightly shaped pictures forming from the clouds, and lastly, a sweet melody that keeps playing in my ear.
As Maribelle dreamed of her perfect place, her lips curling as she still stared at the sky. Her eyes becoming more lifeless by the minute. It was like she was going blind now, the odd shapes of the clouds looking darker by the second. Then until all things went dark, Maribelle sat up rubbing her eyes trying to take the darkness away. Her mind which always seemed to go back to her perfect place. A place where no darkness could reach her. But that, was just a simple Daydream.
