I sat on the rock in the cool summer breeze. I watched as the waves smashed into the cliffs and shatter into a million white pieces. I breathed in a big gulp of air. "Ahhh," I sighed.
I watched as the ocean began to turn orange. The red sun was lowering and the air was cooling. The sky was turning purple and the moon began to shine. Should I stay here? I thought. I can't leave now, I'll stay a little longer. I love the cool breeze and beautiful sight.
I stared into the blue green water and I saw something move. Bubbles came to the surface. I stared at the dark black spot in the water. It seemed to slowly come closer. It was coming closer. My body shivered as I had the idea of it being a shark or something harmful coming closer. I was scared but I couldn't turn away. I stared into the water...
The thing swan closer, faster than before. A scaley hand quickly appeared from under the water. It grabbed my leg and pulled me under. I felt my back scrape against the jagged rock as the thing pulled me under. I opened my mouth for a big gulp of air but when I opened my mouth all I it was flood with water.
I tried to escape from the hand that was pulling me under but it was too strong. I opened my eyes and searched to see what was pulling me under. All I saw was a tail. A big blue tail. Then i saw a red fire blazing and swaying in the water. Fire? In the water? I tried to think but I couldn't. I needed air.
Once again I tried to escape. No use. I was so scared. I was going to die. What was I supposed to do. I couldn't escape. I saw the pale scaley skin of the thing that was pulling me under. Though I still couldn't make out what it was.
The water around me began to turn red. I felt the pain in my back. I opened my mouth to scream. Bubbles came out of my mouth and it flooded with water again. Quickly I closed it. Now I really needed air.
I looked around again a saw another moving object in the water. What was it? I looked closer. Shark... Its a shark. Then I knew it was all over. My life, family, friends, everything was now officially over.
The hand on my foot released its grip and swam away. It was as scared as the shark as I was. I watched it swim away. Suddenly I was smashed against the hard rock by the shark. I opened my mouth to yell but once again, only bubbles. I didn't have enough strength to close my mouth again.... i just watched as the shark came closer to attack me again.
My eyesight was disappearing but I could still see. As the shark lunged to hit me again I saw fire bump the shark out of the way. The shark lunged right into the piece of rock beside me and it must have had knocked it self out because it then floated swiftly to the ocean floor.
Then everything went black..........
I blinked my eyes open and saw the bright purple sky, and many worried faces crowding around me. "She's awake!" yelled one. "She's alive" yelled another. I was not dead! I was alive!! I blinked my eyes and tryed to focus. My eyes stung because of the salty water but I could see. I slowly sat up. "Oh!" I squeaked. My back ached.
I remembered the fire in the water and pale scaley hand. I remebered the blood red water and the hungry shark. I didn't want to believe any of it, but I remembered it all so well. It was real. I looked at the horizon and saw the sun still setting. What had felt like so long had only been a couple of minutes.
Though I still visit the beach I never go up to the rocks anymore. I don't want to have a near death experience ever again.
