- We stared into each other’s eyes, soon she turned away. I can tell that she’s keeping something from me and she usually can’t keep a secret so this must be brutal to her. After all we’re best friends…I still don’t seem to trust her, I don’t trust anyone really. Just like the many boyfriends I’ve had; they could blurt out everything in their heart but I still wouldn’t believe them. Stupid trust issues…This is the reason why I all I have is her right now. I can already feel her slipping away from me. She’s keeping secrets so she must be telling lies somehow… “What’s on your mind”, I ask which seems like a dumb thing to say. “Nothing,” she lies. Well, that’s the first lie I’ve noticed so far. Shall we see how many lies we can squeeze out of her? “You sure? Remember a few months ago where I said that you can tell me anything that’s on your mind. Even the most pointless thing ever thought of, that’s what friends do right?” I put on a fake friendly smile. “Yes but…there’s some things that you really wouldn’t want to know,” she moved her blonde hair away from her purple eyes. [Wow. Am I really that bad of a friend to barely realize that she started wearing various color of contacts. Though I personally don’t know what’s wrong with having brown eyes.] Oh my, I believe that she’s leading me to the truth. I’m not entirely sure if I want to follow her. “True. but… What’s up with you lately, you’ve been acting strange.” “ Oh you’ve noticed?” I want to slap her! Why can’t she just tell me what’s wrong instead of me having to wring it out of her. Wait! What exactly is stopping me from slapping her? And here is where, you might have guessed… yeah I slapped her. Aw, don’t you feel sad for me now? My hand is stinging. “What the hell was that for!?,” her anger seemed unnatural. Damn it, now I think I’ve started a fight. I might as well let it all out now. “Why don’t you just tell me what you’re hiding?! You’re keeping a secret from me and it’s written all over your face!” Yes I have said what’s on my mind, I feel better. Oh no! Why did she have to turn on the water works!? Now I feel bad for yelling at her. “All you’re doing is making this hard on me,” she said in sobs. I rested my hand on her head, “Tell me what you hiding from me. If it’s that big of a secret I promise I won’t tell anyone.” Her crying stopped, “You promise?” “Yes.”
