The sun had set like a bomb falling. Stars were trying to fight their way through the slowly darkening sky, glistening with a red shift as the galaxy forever moves away. The sun has surrendered and the moon is now ruler of the darkness, all the nocturnal animals descending with the moons spotlighted announcement. The moon is the only source if natural light here.
There is no movement any were apart from the ruffle of the undergrowth every now and again. Every living thing that roams here in the day has tucked itself up safely. A mother swan has calmed her cygnets down and has tucked her head under her soft delicate feathers.
It’s easy to sleep along side the pond with the fresh smell of water and the smooth sound of the water, even with the reflecting of the moon on its surface gives the perfect night like to the babies. There is a mist in the air here, it’s safe. You can taste the warm condensation on your tongue, and smell the dew drops hanging crystal like from the spider webs, and the musky scent in the air.
You can feel the warm air rising from under you, making itself free from the trap like concrete.
Even though a gang of teenagers roamed the basketball court like a pack of lions, it was still quiet. Their gentle ranting blended in with the soothing sound of the twilight.
The suttle sound of a basketball patted gently on the ground, like a relaxed heart beat. The group rose giggling with laughter and started to retreat out of the gates, disturbing the scents and mists on their way. As the groups ranting got further away, and the suttle heart beat of the ball became distant and insignificant to the other sounds, the park became quite, once again.
You can feel the wetness in the mist. Branches from a cornered bush rustled in distress. Something was watching over the night, hopefully just a drunken hooligan, but maybe something that was much more of a threat was lurking about. And in one group of trees, defined in the night bye the moon light, you can see the luminous yellow eyes of the nocturnal creatures.
They held torches in their hands as they spotlight dash from place to place. Letting it hover over the recently disturbed bush were the dark shadow had been in hiding. It really was a great place to hide, if one did not want to be found. The illuminated stripes on the tall dark figures jackets gave away their cover, to who they really were. Not destructors of the night, but guardians. The rubber
The rubber soles on their shoes squeak lightly as they quietly leave the park, convinced that it is safe.
It’s different here, at this time of day. Everything here now is peaceful and is significant to the beauty, the smell of musk
the glinting if the crystal like dew drop on the silk spider webs, each and ever flower in a deep sleep now. But when this sun is risen, instead of being peaceful the beautiful park is full of life. Small children run around screaming with laughter, one child get the sickly taste of the sun cream that his mother is covering him in.
In the air you can smell and taste the summer barbeques and the gentle breeze passing through the obstacles. And so many obstacles there are, people, dog, picnics, benches, and small children, its starting to feel slightly claustrophobic and cramped. The park has nearly reached its capacity here;
