Destined Souls
As I lay in my bed
Thoughts begin to run through my head
Wishing and dreaming
Suddenly gleaming
Imagination takes over
It projects images of you and I
As I dream there's a beautiful blue sky
With clouds passing over the warm sun
Here begins our fun
Laying next to one another
Wanting to abide
Side by side
We see each others face
Our hearts begin to race
A calm wind begins to pass
It brushes through the trees
It brushes through the grass
It caresses your hair as we begin to stare
My soul is filled with glee
A connection we cannot see
I move to you
As you move to me
The innate feeling of bliss
I will never miss
Our lives were meant only for this
We touch . . . we kiss

- I dig. At first, I thought to my self, "oh no, not another love poem. They're so played out. Everybody has one." But I kept reading and I noticed that it had a nice rhythm. After line 7 I was starting to dig the imagery and I loved everything from line 15 on down. I liked how this poem wasn't just words to me. It actually conjured up pictures in my mind with barely any effort on my part.
