- Petals fall from a tree long dead onto the face of an angel long since fallen. Black wings spread and the webs fall away to a glimpse of hope, past the crowding pain that holds the darkness. Don't fight it, the light, embrace it past the hatred. Let it clean you of your past tears and let it dirty you with is god foresaken good cheer. Snow falls softly with the petals... Feathers fall swiftly with the snow, and blood shows a woman long past dead. Her withered hands and sunken face...But I swear she was there, standing, breathing in the sun. There she lie, though, with the frozen grass, petrified in the ice her crimson soul leaked about her shattered heart. And I watch petals fall from a tree long dead.
