The sound of laughter
Rising and falling
With the soft caress
Of the evening wind
Do not take life for granted
But instead cherish
Each happy moment
That you experience
Because sometimes
Life isn't fair
And sometimes
Things go wrong
And all you have left
Of the person you loved
Is memories
And regret

- Another thing that could help a poem, is active language. It is more interesting to see things happening, rather than be told of them happening. And to emulate this in poetry, one could use active wording. Now, this poem's message makes it hard to do this. To be honest, the biggest thing that makes this poem boring is its topic. The whole "Don't take life for granted" "cherish each moment" cliche, is as old as anyone could remember, and makes for very boring poetry.

- My critique. The poem uses a lot of cliche sayings. That is, happy little terms and phrases that have been overused to the point of being terribly boring. Things like "evening wind" or "life isn't fair" and such. The overall message of the poem is fairly unoriginal, too. I suppose this cannot be helped.
