My Mother: The Earth
(By Kylie Jenkins)
I walk by the river bank,
The moon on the water,
She is my mother,
And I am her daughter.
I dance on her soil,
As she sings her sweet song,
The tree orchestra,
The wind beckoning on.
An owl swoops past,
Its eyes burn like the sun,
To be with my dear mother,
And forever be one.
She gave me the river bank,
And she gave me the moon,
She gave me the soil,
Which I shall return to quite soon.
She blows that sweet wind,
Through the billowing tree,
And sends a wise owl,
From her- just for me.
