How to you fix a world that's broken from the start?
The walls of your heart are breaking, crumbling apart.
Every one thought to be brave and true
Are lost in a memory, are no longer in view.
You hear the news and tears spring from your eyes,
Your shoulders are hunched, your face wet from your cries
A soul is now dead, soon after he came home bald one day
Treatment didn't help, he was whisked to a land far, far, away.
How do you fix a world that's broken from the start?
The walls of your soul are breaking, crumbling apart.
Lost is one who meant everything to you
You're being torn apart, your emotions askew.
Another black dress for a funeral procession
Another one claimed, more sent into depression
The Cancer has taken another from your life
The pain of the loss worse than being shot or stabbed with a knife
How do you fix a world that's broken from the start
You have been broken, have crumbled apart
From a loved one to a memory has already gone two
Wistfully so t'was to Heaven they flew
Our Earth is saddened, now it's a watery blue
And their is nothing, nothing any of us can do.

- Description: This is, obviously, about Cancer, and the hurt that it caused to my family. This is my third poem I have written outside of school, so I would consider myself new to poetry. Thanks for reading!

- Can you help me edit/ improve this? Or is it a lost cause? Because the ratings say it pretty much sucks.
