• Engulfed by a cloud of doubt and desire
    Thoughts blackened by things dark and vile
    No where to go, no where to run.
    Fighting off the pain and plight of his life,
    He looks around fearing his thoughts,
    Trying to find a way to get out.
    Slowly the black cloud swirls around him
    With a scream he finally surrenders
    But before it takes him
    And he’s forever lost
    A brief light shines giving him hope
    He holds out longer but the light goes away
    Sadly he fights knowing no other way
    Nothing else left to do.
    Then the light comes back
    Larger this time
    And he says to it
    Stay with me my friend
    Help me fight this black,
    This desire, the evil thoughts and twists of my mind
    For that which is blessed let me find hope in you
    So he clings to the light with his eyes
    Watching it as it starts to glow more
    Realizing his prayer was answered.
    The man fights with renewed vigor
    The light always by his side.
    He struggles.
    He screams.
    He bites.
    He cries.
    He survives.
    The black keeps coming but finally is waning
    Now the man still engulfed, is next to his friend,
    This light he now recognizes
    This wingless angel
    He looks at it and says there is hope yet
    There is always hope when you have a friend.
