-
the darkness falls,
as shadows grow,
slowly extinguishing the warm glow.
a black blanket
spread over all,
an onyx curtain waiting to fall.
thoughts crawl into dreams
to plot a demise.
then a voice
stretches its reach to you
its sympathy, lifts you.
it pulls you from the dark,
pushes it away.
the chill returns to warmth,
your thoughts glow.
you walk with her
thoughts and voice of reason.
weak and strong.
