A beating heart
A glowing smile
Sincere eyes
And imagination running wild.
Barefoot feet
With dirt between the toes
Dirty hands
And soiled clothes.
A tender soul
And an eager mind
Searches for any treasure
That she might find.

Description:
This is a carefree poem I wrote July 2, 2006. I intentionally left the poem short and open-ended so that your own imagination can fill in the details. When I read it, I see a young girl of about five or six. I envision her with blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a simple white cotton dress. I see her romping in a sunshine-filled field in July experiencing the wonders of nature.
I'd love to know what comes to your mind as you read it! - Date: 08/25/2009
