-
I sleep as though nought has happened,
My heart, my will, my mind,
In the race for life my pace has slackened.
My soul, my love, my kind,
I listen nought to a child's call,
My trust, my life, I sighed,
Unknowing to the dangerous fall,
My life, my song has died.
Notes that quaver on the wind,
As lasting as light itself,
A blackness, darkness, for I have sinned.
To save me is nought the stealth.
My heart, my will, my mind and love,
Have wasted away to nothing, no, my friend.
My soul, my kind, my song in mind,
I have died. That is the end.
