Schlechtburg
Behind the lines of enemy spines
A war is raging throughout the plain
A deadly strike of none alike
Shots throughout the rain
Private Kitsuyo
Young and naive
Prowling through enemy township
Foward to go
Squad to retrieve
To give the artilliary the slip
Grey fur blowing, pride is growing
He knew he was a star
At just nineteen, the sights he's seen
The reality: bizzare.
Houses burning
Others unscathed
Eyes only focused on what's ahead
Slowly learning
In light he's bathed
Knowing soon he may be dead
The successful fight of every right
The seige had more in store
Another scare of this affair
The Germans were back for more
Flash of blade
Knocked down clean
A gash below right eye
Vision grayed
Things unseen
Afraid he'll surely die
Blood obscuring, courage procuring
Instinct drawing in
Paws curling, tail unfurling
But he knew he cannot win
He cannot find
But first he knew
That defense was the key
He turned behind
Inner rage grew
And lunged at the Nazi
Missed in rage, but like a sage
He knew just where to be
Turn and dive, he dodged alive
Ignoring the pain's plea
The Nazi missed
Knife in hand
And went to jab again
He got the jist
His smile grand
But noticed lacking pain
Swipe was off, while Kitsuyo scoffed
It only hit the air
The time had let his bayonette
Take a lunge in care
It didn't hit
It barely grazed
The Nazi's uniform
The piece of s**t
He muttered, dazed
His eye was growing warm
He noticed pain, still the same
But ignored the growing hurt
The blood has poured, sensations soared
Soaking army shirt
Water downpours
Heart pounding
Muzzle simply filled with blood
No remourse
Taken by force
But the entire life's a puzzle
Another shot, nothing taught
Life not taken away
In the war, there was no score
Only those lives at bay
The recruit knew
He had no time
The move must be taken in haste
With what to do
It was no crime
There was naught time to waste
Bayonette in hand, with pain's demand
He took another blow
The Nazi leaped, Knife took a sweep
With nothing for it to show
Kitsuyo panting
Pain inducing
Blood loss going to his head
But luck was granting
Chance introducing
As he knew he'll soon be dead
One final try, as he may die
The stress was too intense
With one last lunge, he took the plunge
In surprize, with no defense
The weapon in
Blood falling deep
The Nazi screamed in torment
With Kitsuyo's grin
Nazi, in heap
With life completely spent
Collapsing quick, and like a brick
Fell onto the young pup
With glistening eyes, full of despise
Breaking his arm, life up
Kitsuyo fell
And with broken arm
Proceeded to force the Nazi off
With his arm well
And Eye in harm
He patched himself up with a scoff
And so he ran across the span
Which seperated the troop
With eye in pain, blood washed by rain
Reunited with the group
And so the story of young Kitsuyo
Is only just explained
From scar and arm to origins
And what stories he's retained
