Did you hear? Did you hear?
The willow trees sighed
As they watched a lonely fisherman walk on by
Did you know? Did you know?
The north wind said
As it blew the hat off the fisherman’s head
Did you see? Did you see?
The mountains pined
As the fisherman threw in a baited line
Did you feel? Did you feel?
The raindrops cried
As the strong brewing winds slowly died
Did you smell? Did you smell?
The grasses moaned
As the fisherman packed up to go back home
Won’t you help? Won’t you help?
The fireflies wailed
As the fisherman tried to anchor but failed
Have you tried? Have you tried?
The stars did ask
As the fisherman despaired, his emotion a mask
Have I known? Have I known?
Mother earthed groaned
As she helped the fisherman sail back home.
