Love, such a strong feeling, so confusing, it’s out there but when you think you’ve found it, it isn’t real. Just a fake, a fraud. It hurts when you believe in the fake and it lets you down. Not nicely, not softly or gently, but dropped down off a cliff to the hard rocky bottom.
It leaves you in the air going down slowly before you finally land and break, like glass, into a fragile mess. The wind from one word could blow part of you away. Lost in the rest of the world, maybe you’ll get up and find it again or someone else will find you. When they do, they may lift you up or crush you farther, closer to the dirt. Losing more and more of yourself until you are so small you’re almost invisible.
Will that special person notice a speck like you as they walk by or will their words push you up into the wind? If they notice you, would you really trust them or push them away in your fear of being hurt again even worse. Would they be able to put you together again, would they lift you and help you find what was lost. If you never find what you had lost does it really matter? Someone noticed you; someone took your hand and led you out of that cliffs valley. They are with you now whether it’s the love you want or the love of a good friend. It doesn’t matter you have love and, another part of you is found.
The more and more you believe the more that is found and the stronger your love will be. Your bond with them, it grows and grows every time you are with them until it’s finally strong enough. Strong enough so that nothing will ever break it, or you ever again.
You would take the hand even if it would hurt you later, as long as it loved you at that moment. It doesn’t matter how long as long as you have the love you yearn for. The love everyone yearns for and needs.
Now when everything is through you’re whole again. You can finally breathe again without crumbling to dust. No more fear of falling down, down, down form that cliff and no more crashing to the bottom. No more thought of losing yourself in the wind. Everything is whole. Now you can smile again, the smile that you thought had been lost until you found it so far away from home. You’re not invisible anymore, no feeling of being so small that no one can even feel your presence. It was only with the help of the hand of that one person, who noticed the speck in the street.
- Title: The Breaking Cliff
- Artist: Lukasona
- Description: Well there really isn't much to say about this. I wrote it a few years ago when I was really starting to get into poems. It's definitely my favorite one I've done in a while. Good or bad I don't know but I like it.
