Sunset over the beacon
Night falls
And light leaves little by little the world.
The sky becomes tinged with ruby-red,
While the sea salty scent caresses me
And its sweet voice rocks me.
How can my plain pen
Describe such a triumph?
How can I,
small and ephemeral human being,
capture in my lines such a wonder?
The sun has now disappeared
Behind the dark outline of the mountains,
Leaving on the snow-white clouds
A slight pinkish hue.
The sea is a sapphire board,
A strip of precious cloth
Swaying to the rhythm of the breaths of wind,
Bearer or Life.
What a beauty around me,
quiet, peaceful.
I dedicate these few words to You,
which, although they come from my soul,
could never even touch
Your perfection.
I only hope to be able to communicate
my astonishment to you
before Your greatest gift,
before the most precious thing You grant us,
so well represented by this normal
but so touching landscape,
before Life.
