Years ago, in the distant past a couple stumbled upon an ancient decaying temple, it looked to be abandoned for years. They being curious walked in and saw that the temple seemed to be in ruins, inside and out. But as they ventured deep within the reaches, they found a stone gate, shrouded with ruins that seemed to have withstood the destruction. As they approached, the ruins seemly sensed their blood and brightened, as each ruin glowed on the stone door. The couple frightened, ran out of there. As they made their way to freedom, the gates slowly became to open and dark things sprang for their confinement. They made it out of the temple in into the world. The couple stunned, wasn't sure what the hell happened. They made it alive and decided to leave it in the dark, so no one could find out what happened.
Of course, just as these things left, murders, destruction and natural disasters were a natural occurrence. Things were taking a turn for the worst and the government stepped in. They managed to capture these things and dragged them all towards their facilities, so they can investigate and research these things. But of course, they weren't all captured. A lot of them involved and went into hiding, while their others were captured and taken to be experimented on. And the government all hid it underneath a huge cover story not to panic the public.
Now years have passed and everything seemed to be quiet. Now, those that have not being captured have learned something. They can't live long on this world, without finding someone to contract with them. Of course these contractors would have special abilities that relate to their contractee. Of course the one they contracted with, slowly becomes part of them making them extraordinary and unlike anyone else. Instead, they become a bonded partner and it's the only way these entities can survive this world. The contractor doesn't quite know, just that they are different than everyone else.
But like everything, the government has gotten wind of these contractors and they want them for themselves. Most of the specimens, that the scientists that gathered and taken, have all perished, making their research unfinished. But with these contractors, they knew they can go beyond expectations. For these contractors seem immune to almost anything, which makes them very interesting. However, there are other entities that are still lurking, finding someone to form a contract with them. While some contractors use their gifts to kill and ravish, while others just want to fit in or using their abilities for good. The entity has a physical form and seem to be close to their contractor. But when their abilities are needed they become part of the contractor themselves.
The race is on, and the government will go to all means to get these contractors. Problem is, these contractors are like everyone else. They look like humans, making it hard for the government to to find them. Only when they have used their abilities, the government will be able to find them. Alliances and friendships will be tested. While others use their own gifts for their personal gain. The government hot on their tails. Will they be able to escape the grasp of government agents?
