As I sit and stare without falter
Into the greenest pool of water,
Deep as the abyss, And impossible to resist,
I dive head first, An unquenchable thirst,
Yearning for more, I open the door,
To treasures unseen, Shades of aquamarine.
Shimmering and glimmering in the afternoon sun;
Shivering and quivering, to the surface I come;
Just one more dive, And I might revive,
The feelings that make me come alive.
What mysteries the silent waters hold,
Of past and future and secrets of soul;
For now I must return to shore,
Desiring yet to reach the core;
How beautiful the crystal gems,
From which the hidden wonder stems.
