As far as everyone knew, the world as we knew it was ruled by the stars. These stars were the beckons of hope, that everyone depended on it. Anything unusual or astonishing, the people thanked their deities of the stars. Magic was gifted to only a few people and these people were seen as representatives of their precious deities, the ones that ruled over the world. So in favor of these deities of theirs a council was formed. It was formed of those gifted people with magic. They were the representatives of their star gods. They followed their deities promises and ruled over the people. The people who were so enthralled with their council, who brought forth their deities' voices. They soon formed what was known as the Council of Stars. Their job was to pass down their deities wishes and promises to the people who worshiped them. For this council brought forth so much. They had good harvests and people were barely sick at all. It was like they were blessed form the heavens and they had to thank the Council of Stars for letting their voices be heard. Only five of the most powerful were allowed a seat on the council. For getting a seat on the council was the greatest gift of all. To be able to speak with their deities, their gods. It was peaceful times.
However as the years went by, things started to turn worse. Famine scoured the lands, people were getting sick and dying. With war knocking on their doorsteps the people started to despair. They started to believe that their deities had abandoned them. They fled, trying to find a way out. But the Council of Stars saw this as a sign. A sign, that the world needed to change. That the people had outlived their stay and were to be eliminated. That it was time for the Star Apocalypse, a phenomenon that will wipe out all those who were considered unworthy, to walk in the new world. They shared the new law to the people and the people screamed, fearing for their lives. The council claimed that it was for their own good and that those deemed worthy would be spared. The people didn't believe it and they moved to flee the city. But the council would have none of that. Using their abilities, they trapped them all into the capital with no escape.
Huge magical walls appeared around the city, locking everyone in. They sent out other magic users, to all the cities and towns of the world. They passed the message to everyone, telling them that their gods have spoken. Anyone deemed unworthy were taken from their homes and thrown into the capital city, where the council deemed their fate. Most of them were sacrificed, their blood shed on the alter to their gods. Taking their hearts to fill their own magical essences and to become forever the speakers of the stars. People were brought in everyday, those that were deemed worthy stayed in the capital, but soon the capital was forced to expand and it became known as the Fortress of Heaven. Those that were unworthy, were thrown in the dungeons to wait, until they were sacrificed to their gods. The place became a place of hell. The council was forcing and teaching those within its walls, that they were worthy and anything outside these walls were considered trash or vermin to be eliminated. It went on for many years, as horror and fear spread throughout the lands.
However the stars themselves didn't proclaim such a feat. No the council had gotten corrupt with power and they used it for their own personal gain. So the star deities themselves decided to step in, after years of watching their people suffer and being killed needlessly. They choose twelve seemly ordinary people and blessed them with the powers of the zodiac. No, they weren't zodiac animals but the actually astrological zodiac signs, from all twelve houses, that governed the laws of balance of the world. Each of them were blessed with a gift and given magic abilities of their own. They represented the deity leader of one of the twelve houses of order that governed the world. However these people weren't aware that they were gifted with such power; the power to change the world. Only when a time of great need arrived, a sign would appear somewhere on their bodies. It represented one of the twelve zodiac houses; telling them that a greater destiny has been bestowed on them.
One day their normal lives changed drastically. Some were deemed worthy and some were deemed unworthy by the Council of Stars. Their peaceful lives were shattered and because of that they were thrown into an epic battle between good and evil. With the stars as their guide, they are considered a deadly force that can match the corrupted forces of the Council of Stars. However not all is what it seems. There is a deadlier driving force that is behind closed doors, whom want something even the council couldn't even begin to understand. This something is darker and more sinister than the council could ever be. They need these bloodied sacrifices, for something greater then the human mind could even begin to comprehend. It's why they're using the Council of Stars to accomplish their goal, without them knowing, that something is behind the choices the corrupted make. However in the shadows they remain and both forces will collide with each other. Let the epic battle begin between two forces. But as they collide, secrets will be unraveled, reality will be distorted and the question is, who is the real puppet in this game?
