My goodness! I can't believe I've neglected my journal for so long! Wow.
To recap what's happened so far, I found that as February drew to a close, the price of a January 2004 Letter kind of levelled out. Of course, there was still the one who insisted the letter was already worth one hundred forty thousand gold. It should be expiring soon, if it hasn't already. Truly a blessing. Unlike that person, others were trying to sell their letters for less. The minimum floated around seventy-five thousand gold. After a lot of begging and grovelling, I traded sixty-one thousand gold plus a Demonic Pitchfork, plus Elven Ears and a G Pin for a January 2004 Letter.
I probably could have haggled a little bit, considering I had a lot of gold. However, given how the price rose so much over the past month, I was more than happy to give a friend a little extra just to be done with the quest. Yes, I have never been so relieved to be done a quest as I was with that one. It was crazy and how people wanted to gouge others was terrible. I still feel the price was raised artificially and that it needn't have gone up as fast as it did.
Yet others would argue it's part of the Gaian economy. I suppose and I supplied a reason for the high price because I did pay close to eighty thousand gold, so I can see their point. However, were the huge jumps in price necessary or was it all about seeing how much they could possibly get from some unsuspecting fool? I think it was a case of the latter, and that's why I'm so glad to be done that. I don't even want to go near to thinking of how "wonderful" I'd feel if I went for a 2003 letter, although I can justify some of the prices now because it is almost two years since they were released. Almost. And the stuff then was better than 2004 in my humble opinion.
For the next few days, I wasn't able to be on Gaia much. Homework and all. So I couldn't really jump into my next quest right away. That had to wait until Saturday and even then, it wasn't that great of a start.
March is going to be a tough month for me. Despite this prediction, I have two quests going. My main thread will have my quest for a BTK Hat. Its price is fairly low: three thousand gold at one point. I'm stretching the quest over a month. I went so hard for the last quest that I need to slow down a bit and pace myself. 126 gold a day to be exact. Haha.
At the same time, Kierras-Ann has started a new thread for the Emo Bag Quest. That has a bumping contest among the regular good-to-have notables. The new thread will cover the quests for a June 2004 Letter and Angelic Pendant as well, because I imagine those two items will be fairly expensive by the time I can quest for them. I could quest for them first, but that could make the Emo Bag go up much higher.
In addition to the high-end quests, Kierras-Ann has a house. It's a very empty house without any windows or doors, but no one is visiting, so that's all right. I knew housing would eventually come out, but I didn't set aside any gold. Well, we're going to do that now, in addition to setting aside gold each day for the top five bumpers too.
Every day, twenty-five gold will be set aside for furnishing the house. The prizes break down to this:
- 1st place ::: 100 gold
- 2nd place ::: 85 gold
- 3rd place ::: 50 gold
- 4th place ::: 25 gold
- 5th place ::: 15 gold
It sounds like a lot, doesn't it? I'm not so sure if I'll be able to earn one thousand gold a day towards the Emo Bag and then the required three hundred gold for the prizes and the house, but I could. I have a bit of a head start because I didn't start the Emo Bag quest until March 5th, so that makes it approximately one thousand gold a day for the two days it's been running. I only need 126 gold a day for the BTK Hat, so the rest can be sent to Kierras-Ann to either cover the prizes and the house requirements, or if they are already filled, then towards the Emo Bag. Wouldn't that be something if I'm able to make more than one thousand a gold a day for the Emo Bag? That would be something.
Anyway, I need to get going from here. All this writing and very little polling and bumping other people's threads aren't putting me very far ahead. I'd like to get a little fishing in this morning too, before I need to rush off to school.
So much to do in a day, isn't that always the way?
