So, I get a job working and organizing files at an acupuncture place. Nice chinese couple run it. The other girls are fantastic to work with and they are so happy I'm replacing the dumb blonde they had to put up with. We get along so well. blaugh I'm so happy with it.
However... suddenly Best Buy is desperately trying to get me onto the geek squad. As the store only has male members, all of whom are far more advanced than I am, it's a little intimidating. They told me they can teach me and train me. I learn quickly and I already know the production line. I have been in best buy frequently to the point where I know half of the employees. Granted, I know more than some of them (seriously, when our ntdlr file got deleted I told them they couldn't access windows and they check it anyway? oO I said I wanted files transferred and they couldn't do something so simple as to get it from another, copy it onto a disk, and insert it in and do a file retrieval? Sheesh.), but... not really. I do learn quickly, especially with computers.
I figured it out. I hated accounting, linguistics, and medical because I knew the stuff. It rarely changes and is boring. With computers I'm constantly being challenged. I always am having to invent new ways of doing stuff. I'm better with software than hardware. I'll learn though. I am trying to build my own computer (starting with a laptop, pc). I want to learn how to build a mac and fix macs. I'm turning towards them and linux. Frankly, they're more fun.
So, anyways, then I was at Kinko's trying to fax my university to get transcripts, again. Well, this guy had a question and the clerk had no idea how to do the simplest things with word. rolleyes Come on, I took a microsoft office course, it's not like it's hard. So, I helped him. Then someone else asked for my help. I got swarmed. I think the clerk was grateful as it was after midnight (hooray for a 24hr kinkos!) and he sent my fax for free and didn't charge me on internet access. But I helped all those people and was asked by the manager if I would like a well paid job there (higher position than starting).
So, I get a job and suddenly everyone wants me? xd I'm also being told I have to go high into math and english because I was taking "advanced placement" classes. Maybe high for california, but in Utah.... what? oO
So, I'm taking high math and physics. *dies* I'm also able to get my associates after this semester. They want me to transfer to UCSD right away after that. They evidentially liked my transcripts.
California school systems are weird. They have certain universities where you sign up for four years and then go to the career world. Then there are separate ones where you go for four years, then go to grad school with the same university. You're only there to go to grad school. No job in between. I was like "oO;;;" So, go to school with grad and then pay off my schooling until I'm 60 years old or something. I know Brenton's dad is still paying off his school. Our marriage counselor is old and still paying off her schooling (she went to the U then transferred to UCSD so we have a connection there ^^).
So... what should I choose? I'm meeting with the counselor again on Tuesday to discuss this. I was treated badly until she opened my transcript and was eek
rolleyes Geez. Some people, go back to school and learn customer relations. It helps.
