I sat there on my couch tired I had been sitting there in dark for two hours listening to the clock tick away the minutes. It was 7 in the morning my alarm went off up stairs. I could hear the springs of my bed creaking under weight. I knew my wife was up the sun peeked into the window lighting the dark living room. I still sat there my shoes kicked off and my hair let down from a short pony tail I wore. My hair came down to the beginning of my neck I brushed a strand out of my face and got up going up stairs. I pushed open my room door and walked in my wife sat on the edge of the bed rubbing her grown stomach. "how long have you been up?" she asked as she got up and hugged me. I hung my arms limp around her
"two hours" I said quietly and softly. She rubbed my head
"do you have work today?" I nodded and flipped on the light walking around her and into a small closet. I took out some pants and closed the door back throwing the pants on the bed. I wasn't in the mood to move faster I had a head ache, and was tired. My wife went in the bathroom and started the shower. I walked in, closed, and locked the door as she walked out.
A few minutes after my shower and after I had gotten dress I went down stairs and found my wife in the kitchen cooking breakfast. I walked behind her and took a piece of sausage she smiled at me turning around and watched me as I ate the sausage "stay for breakfast" she said as she fixed my shirt
"can't I'm going to be late" I told her as I whipped my hand on a dish towel, kissed her cheek, and walked out. Later as I left work I got a call from my best friend jay. I picked up as I got in the car "yo" I said as I sat there
"yo bro...What you up to?" I sighed. Me and jay had been friends for years we treated each other like brothers.
he took care of me I took care of him.
"nothing much...just got off from work." Jay's voice didn't sound happy and neather did mine. "jay whats wrong?" I asked as I started the car and drove out of the parking lot.
"well...you need to come to the hospital I'll tell you when you get here..."I gave another heavy sigh
"I'll be right there..." I hung up and pulled on the road. I turned my radio up and continued down the street soon coming to the local hospital. I parked outside and walked in and looked around the waiting room, Jay walked up to me a sad look on his face "whats wrong?" I asked as I rested a hand on his shoulder
"I'm not strong enough to tell you yet" he told me as he lead me through the hospital into another small waiting room. My crew was all there when I came in all the sad eyes were on me. Jay put his hand on my shoulder lightly squeezing it. "well you see me and the boys were all in front of my house working on the car we heard gun shots and a car rushed down the street" Jay looked down
"we saw your brother running from the car...they let off three more rounds and he fell." Dice said I looked around as she walked up to me
"is he ok?" I asked. Dead silence struck apon them Dice hugged methe rest of the crew hung there heads.
