It all started with a single explosion. My life will never be the same. The day that they attacked my home, the day that my mother was killed, the day I became this monster I am. I'll never be able to walk throughout my land without worry any more. I'll always be locking for a trap, because of what Gismia did to me.

10 years ago when I was seven, they attacked my home of Loc'Sharie. We've been peaceful with all the countries since the civil war, why they came for us is unknown. All I can remember is running inside yelling, "Mommy look what I found!" but when she got to me her face turned to an expression of terror. I turned around to see a series of explosions from the homes all around us. Within seconds I was slammed to the ground where one happened from behind. Hours later as I woke, I found her dead.

To jump out of my reminisce, I've spent every day since I was able in training. Now I'm the leader of a task force created by King Kunit to take down Gismia. I'm only 17, the rest of the force is in their 20s.

My father says that I look like her with my streaming blond hair. I don't see it. She is a woman, I'm a man. When he heard the good news of my achievement of becoming the leader of the task force, he spent all of his money on this sword I carry. He told me he had the finest magi and seers he could find enchant it for me. I've never believed that tell though, he is a poor construction worker and the blade looks no different than any other. I can't wait until I get to try it out.

Tiresome days have been all I have had lately. In the fact that we are leaving for Gismia soon means that we have to prepare, train, and study everything about them. Leaves us little time to sleep, which is sad because I personally love my bed.

From across the courtyard of my home I hear, "Master Adease! Master Adease you must hurry! Lord Kunit has declared a mandatory meeting with you and your force right now! I'm Commander Cartin, I'm to be your escourt."

After the man's panting is done, "Cartin, I'm in no need of an escourt, what is this about?"

"Sir, I do believe you will want one. Lord Kunit said I was to attend with you and if I didn't we'd both be in trouble. He said nothing else, I brought a horse for you it's outside the courtyard, let's go."

"Fine... But this better be good, I didn't get my training in today yet and you interrupted my walk to my training room."
