How to create a Silent Hill OC: Essential Questions

Gender: Female


1. Why is the character in Silent Hill?

Katherine is drawn to Silent Hill inorder to re-live the trauma brought to her when she was child. She seems to have forgotten exactly what happened to her Uncle Mark and her father, but a strong sense of unspecified guilt had lured her there after seeing a familiar face reach her doorstep years later.

2. What is the character's motivation to explore the town?

Katherine is genre savvy! No not really, this took place in the early 90's...Actually she tried to hide out in a hospital but so much happened.

To sum it up, she helped a man from some creepy a** doctor's and nurses and he was all passed out. She drug him into a room and not too long after; they were placed in the Otherworld. It was damn near impossible to escape Silent Hill then. So technically, she has no motivation, the town is just mind raping the ******** out of her.

I'd like to think Katherine subconsciously knows there's something here that she can't remember. Oooh is she right...


3. What is the character's goal?

To escape and partially to recollect any trace of memories to sooth her guilt and her anger. Her anger is scary. : <


4. Give a general classification of the character.

- Intelligent

- Polite
- Mentally/Emotionally Unstable ex: Depressed, Mass Mood Swings
- Suicidal/Homicidal Tendancies (It makes more sense actually)
- Loner type but not by choice


5. Who (or what) is the character chasing?

Aw man the spoilers! Well let's see here. She inevitably chases a child who mysteriously appears in the elementary school. The little girl has a nasty habit of luring Katherine and John to weapons and places that take them out of the "Otherworld". In reality, she's chasing a variation of herself, interestingly enough, she can see the monsters.

There's a figure that appears right before she leaves the Otherworld too, but he doesn't stay long and he's always somewhere you can't reach! D8


6. What is the character's connection to Silent Hill?

The first time she was erm, raped, was on a trip to her Uncle Mark's place while her parents were away. He stopped somewhere in town for a "flat" but ya know...All the multiple occasions afterwords with him took place at his home.


7. What is the character's connection to the Order?

None.


8. What is the central area of exploration for this character?

Actually, they've been all over. Never helped seeing as every ********' street leading out of the town is a giant, gaping, hole of doom! D8
