Yipee! I had troubles accessing my inventory last night, so I went to the bank to begin a trade with myself and there it was. :3 My box of chocolates. :3 I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it! Woot! And the coolest part is that I wasn't on at the time. ^^ A little event would have been nice, but that would have amplified Gaia's problems, so I'm glad there was none.
I'm saddened that not everyone got a box of chocolates. Maybe it's late arriving in the system or something, but the box should have come by now. I'm very glad that the chocolates are in Agatha's store. That's a nice way of letting people buy more without paying a leg and an arm, although if someone has, which I think I saw someone report they forked over 10,000, then good for them. 3nodding It's times like this that I'm glad to be a slow-poke.
I have (finally) figured out that if you want to make lots of money in an event, you need to sell any items you get right away. If you delay, you'll find them worth only a couple hundred, if that, before too long and then maybe, just maybe, years later (like two or so years because even one year won't cut it) it'll be worth more. I don't know if I'll be all that inclined to sell my event item at Gaia's Second Birthday Bash this Friday though. Probably not, because I find those items worth more to me as an item than as some gold. 3nodding I'm not that desparate for my quest!
With that said, my quest is going along very nicely. I earned the desired 1,000 gold yesterday and am now working on today's desired gold. I'm not sure if I commented when I reached 25,000 gold that that is the price of Ducky hat, which I could have bought if my heart so desired. Well, now I've passed the 40,000 gold mark, which is the price of Fairy Wings, which I could buy if my heart so desired.
Once upon a time, I think I would have desired Fairy Wings. Now, I'm not so sure. I find that a lot of people have them, which shouldn't take away the wings special-ness, especially since they are the most expensive single item in any store. However, the flip side is that they are more common, are they not? Brown paper bags are common too, but I don't find a lot of users wearing them. My Rust Longsleeve Baggy Shirt is common too, but I haven't seen a lot of people wearing it either. It's like people want the most outrageous or most expensive item to dress their avatar, and that doesn't float my boat too much. I know it's not the complete answer for why I don't seek the much sought after Fairy Wings, but it'll do for now. They just don't seem to catch my heart's interest.
I will love it once I can quest for a real wearable item. A letter will be great for bargaining leverage come later in the future, but for now what I really want is to wear nice things without having to pay a lot of money for them. 3nodding
Eighteen to twenty-five days left to go. January 2004 Letters are currently sitting at around 60,000 gold, but not less than that, which is a real shame. Time to go vote in a poll! 3nodding
