I saw only darkness as she slept an the beach. It had probably been almost half an hour that she had been laying there on the beach passed out. I heard foot steps. "Who are you?" asked a boys voice. She finally opened her eyes just a little to see spiky brow hair and blue eyes. Kairi then passed out again...
She picked a of stone up after him. She scrapped pictures of creatures I never imagined. After a while, she walked over to a big empty space. "Can I draw you?" Sora asked. "Only if I can draw you." Kairi replied. It was very good, I loved it! One of the best things I ever saw! It made me want to draw too... I wanted to do so many things that she did, but I never would. Even if there was a way I could, I'd never be aloud to... I sighed at the same time she did. "What is it?" Kairi shrugged. " 'Don't know!" She said giggling. "I like your laugh." Sora said. "Huh?" She felt warm above her nose. (She was blushing) "Do it again!" He persisted. "I have nothing to laugh at!" He made a silly face. She giggled. He smiled. I could tell he had a new idea. He started to tickle her. Kairi was hysterical. I guess seeing her happy made me... Jealous. I envied her. I wanted that too. A kind, caring friend, someone to make me laugh, another to look out for me... I know I sound selfish, but I wanted that too... But know that I think about that, I have it now too...
It was not long before Riku came up with the idea to leave the island to go see Kairi's home. Riku and Sora were having a swimming contest. "Hey, Sora." Kairi wasn't that far away, so she heard what they were saying. "Yeah?" "I bet you not only can I swim out farther that you, but I can also swim so far, I can get to the world Kairi was from." "Huh?" "Go!" Kairi shouted, giving them the siginal to swim. Sora started a second late. That was all Riku needed. He swam so far out, Kairi couldn't even see him any more. She waved to Sora and yelled "Come back now!" Sora turned to Riku and yelled it too. Sora came back after Riku because he wasso tired. "I thought you said you always haven energy." Kairi looked at both of them with pleading eyes. She didn't want this to break out into a fight. "I do, but I literally need 1 minute. Not even." "I didn't even see one spot of land. No wonder they use boats." He crossed his arms and thought for a moment. "Know what we need?" "What?" Kairi asked. "A boat." "A boat cost munny we don't have." Sora reminded him. "We're better off building a raft!" He joked. "Yeah." Kairi played along. "We could get logs to build it..." "And spare clothes, and previsions..." "Exactly!" Riku yelled, catching them both off gaurd. "Huh?" They both asked in unison. "It's worth a try. Lets at see how long it will last. Besides, It could be fun!" Kairi thought for a moment while Sora looked skeptical. "Okay!" "huh?" Sora looked at Kairi slightly confused. "Why not? Like Riku said, It could be... fun." Sora contemplated for a bit longer. "Okay! It's worth a shot. Especially if it works!" "It's getting late." Riku said gazing at the sky. "Lets go home." Kairi turned to leave following Riku and Sora. "Hey, Sora." "Huh?" "How many times is it now?" "Is what now?" "How many times I beat you in something?" Sora playfully pushed Riku. "I'll start keeping track." He said. I wonder... How many times has it been Sora?
She looked. And looked. And then she saw him. "He's so lazy." Kairi mumbled. "Although I'm no better. I use him as an excuse to slack off." She said giggling. She trotted over to him. "Sora." She said gently waking him up. He opened his eyes and looked around, the sun slightly blinding him. He sat up, looked around, then layed back down again. "Woah!"He said shooting up as soon as he saw Kairi. She laughed at his display. "Sora you lazy bum. I knew I'd find you down here snoozing. "I wasn't!" He protested. "This big black thing swallowed me up and- ow!" Kairi hit him on the head. "Are you still dreaming?" "It wasn't a dream. Or was it... I don' know." Kairi stared at the water, thinking of distant things other than what Sora was rambling on about. "Hey, Kairi. What was your home town like?" I wonder what it was like. She thought. "I told you before. I don't remember." As much as I play in people's heads, I don't know what it's like to forget or not remember...
