I know I usually don't write anything serious down here, but I just really have to say this.

Why are people so against the government? And not just particular political issues (in fact, the government exists to be protested against -- but that's a whole different topic), but government in general.

Lately, I've seen all these weird emo fags (and I can say that because I'm gay) who've said things like, "Screw the government!" and "Anarchy rules!"

What complete and utter idiots.

Don't they realize that if there wasn't a government, that their life would suck? Don't they realize that government is the reason they can wear their crappy Hot Topic clothes and drink overprocessed, sugary sodas and play nonsensical video games? Civilization only ever occurred because of government. If there wasn't anyone to make the rules, then everyone would play dirty, and nobody could keep themselves safe long enough to bother to invent anything. Government meant cities, and people congregating instead of hunting and gathering. It allowed people to be peaceful enough to be able to maintain farms, which was a consistent source of food, which eventually became an overabundance of food, so they could trade it for other things they need. This is known as bartering, and that became the monetary system we know today.

Without money, there wouldn't be a world like ours. Certainly a lot of people think that that isn't a good thing, but it still got us to where we are today, and I think that the way we are now is definitely an improvement over the nomadic ways of our distant ancestors. Money drove people to invent things that we know and take for granted today, like dishwashers and multivitamins.

Basically what I'm trying to say here is that without someone or some people presiding over the nation, nobody would get anywhere. There would be chaos. Crime would run rampant. And these pimply teenagers are just saying that they like anarchy because they only vaguely understand what it means. To them, it simply means "no rules!" I can see why that would be attractive, to not have a curfew, and to drink all they want, etc.

I hope someone who's pro-Anarchy reads this, and tries to argue with me. Or someone playing the Devil's Advocate, because I really want to shove this s**t up their a**.

If you read this far, I officially kiss your feet. No, I'm not Jesus. Many people have made that mistake, however.
