Well, it's been a while since I've written here sweatdrop A lot happened in my life, which were all very depressing and exhausting, and all pretty much kept me away from the sweet mindless wonder of the internet cry
So it's only been recently that I got back into anime, with a long list of series that I've been meaning to watch. But Gakkou Gurashi! aka School-Live was not on that list - and I cannot why not because this show was actually really good. So much so that after the final episode I immediately started on the manga! heart I've just started on the manga so this journal entry shall be just on the show, and Ill try not to spoil anything smile
Normally, I don't watch moe shows, because they usually are a lot of episodic sweetness designed to put viewers into diabetic comas. But I've never heard of a moe slice of life set in a zombie apocalypse with humor, feels, scares and mystery (it might just be me though)
One of the main characters, Yuki, really loves her school, her classmates, teachers and the School Living Club... which is weird enough but when it all goes to hell and everyone she's known and loves gets zombified, her mind is the only retreat she has... and it has been for a while. The first episode is actually quite clever in the way little clues that not all is right whilst we follow Yuki around (I pretty much kept pausing and rewinding just to catch them). And it's a pleasant sort of jarring when we realize the truth of the school in the first episode. Also, while the show is classed as Horror, it does not do the whole gore and jumpscares routine but rather an eerie atmosphere that fills the viewer with dread and fear for the characters.
