Lies, prostitution, adultery, war.
The world was brought up on these things for the past 750 years, and things never changed until the end of those years. The land resembled a Meiji Era I've heard about, except with lasers and hovercars and the s**t like that. People died, women stolen and made to sell themselves, children growing on prejudice and anger, knowing nothing but war, and they taught their children, whom taught their children, and those who weren't taught died. You couldn't find an innocent soul about the people, and even the babies were soon tainted. It's said that all babies born in this era didn't cry when they came out, but embraced pain above all else. All thanks to the Government. However, they attempted to justify, creating a fake, 'above' government which set 'laws'.
In this era, you couldn't even travel without just about every document you owned stating who you were, when you were born, etc. Weapons somehow found their way to people, even after their 'ban'. The 'laws' were so unfair toward someone or another, some even racist, others not so much. You could be killed on the spot for even putting a dent in one of these laws, no matter if it was an accident or what. They didn't care, as long as the bloodshed continued.
The years went by with fighting and hate, until one group of men decided to stand up. 10 people of men and women gathered to form a group known as 'Juudaikoku' - The Ten Powers. The 10 Powers used their extraordinary skills to put an end to the reign of a crooked government and in turn end the Crisis Era. The people, well, the good ones, rejoiced, and rebuilt upon the land. Metropolis' were built, cities of great glory, but the olden japanese styles stayed in some lands where it was truely wanted. However, due to the war, everything before the time of the Crisis Period was destroyed, causing loss of past intellegence and all history about the place to be wiped out.
And so, the people start anew. Years later, history begins a new.

And The World Restarts...
The new era has begun, and wars are no more. The continents of the world rejoice and invite each other, travel is made without restraint, people can go to new lands without the strict immigrant laws which once were in place. People love one another without the racism and prejudice that was once a part of the world. People were now allowed to carry weapons. Bad thing? No, it was for protection purposes. There were still people who lived to teach and do the evils once done. And, thats where these guys come in.
Some people, evidently, became so skilled in the arts of their weaponry that they gain nicknames and world fame, movies for themselves and such. Swordsmen, ninja, samurai, etc, were all accepted in the land and allowed. These people harnessed their ability for the good, and even formed a nameless group. Some thought them to be the offspring of the old Ten Powers, but they weren't. They didn't look anything like them. They stationed their own subordinates about to world to be able to help the people. However, for every light, theres always a shadow.
A group of 12 antagonists who called themselves 'Arata Tenmai' meaning New Dawn. They plan to recreate the past world with themselves as the rulers. They are the true of springs of famous people of the World Crisis Era, but not the good famous ones. Their mothers and fathers were those of the government, and as such, they have dark abilities and skills.
Soon after their appearance, many of the world famous warriors began to die. Soon after that, there have been reports of some warriors sighted being aligned to Arata Tenmai. One by one, and even in groups, these once honorable men began to fall or become an Arata Tenmai. It seemed the world would plunder. However, there seemed to be hope, even if only a little bit.
There have been reports of the Ten Powers actually having offspring, and it appears that it takes at least 2 Arata Tenmai to take on 1 of them, depending on which ones are selected to fight. However, one stands above them, and he seems to be the son of the leader of The Ten Powers. In any case, it seems that Arata Tenmai cannot locate him. But, it seems that the other offspring have not been attacked yet. It appears that Arata Tenmai is planning something.
Meanwhile.....
The TV flickers from channel to channel as the sound of a liquid being chugged is going down the young mans throat.
"Wonder whats on...."

++What This World Is--
I'm sure you've all read the backstory to this roleplay, and the last part which peaks interest. Who is this mysterious man watching the telly? Can't reveal that yet. There are still things you need to know to know Epic.
Ok, so, way back in the day, when the wars were going, the government had had children to carry on their legacy. However, shortly after birth, their parents were killed. They never knew them, but knew they were their offspring. So, the children want revenge for what happened to their parents. They don't think it was fair that they grow up without their real parents while others do. They could grow up abused, raped, whatever, but something has to cause them to want to kill other than their parents. None are brother and/or sister, but they have formed their brotherhood known as New Dawn.
So, the Ten Powers also had children, none brothers and sisters, and are generally stronger than any one person in the New Dawn. These children didn't have their real parents either, but could have the same lifestyle as the New Dawn offspring, but something causes them to do good instead. Maybe the fact that they want to carry on their parents legacy and become, as we call it, epic.
Ok, so the one above each of these kids would be the one at the end of our little backstory. The one who cannot be located by New Dawn simply because he fell out of action. And disappeared. The other 9 children, however, were easily located, but New Dawn refuses to take care of them for the simple reason of 'wanting a challenge'.
So, you could say that New Dawn, if you've watched the anime Naruto, is sort of like Akatsuki. Except they want to kill those with awesome powers that stand against their own, not capture demons for world conquest. Simple, no? Actually, yes.

Mmkay, now, for the world. The world is similar to, if you've seen the anime, Rurouni Kenshin. Meiji Era. Wooden houses, swords, dojos, small wooden cities scatter the plains of this world. However, scattered across the world would be metropolis like cities which are much more developed than other places, and no two cities are the same. However, due to just being built, there are no city names, and they are debating on it. Theres at least 10 for every continent, highest undetermined.
This does not follow the earth that we know, but an Alternate Reality of sorts, if you could say that. This means that there were no WW's or Nuclear Bombings or whatnot. However, this earth does follow some japanese themes, such as katana and Yakuza, or whatever. So, thats pretty much the world for you.

So, you think you know the world? Nope, you've just tipped the iceberg. Well, you've cut it some, but you still need to know some other things. So, what would make this world better? Weapons and supernatural abilities. Guess what. We got both. Weaponry consists of whatever you make it. Plasma gun, halberds, laser-katanas, hand-held nukes, everything. Well, maybe not the hand-held nukes. However, just because you have a huge gatling gun that can shoot 100 bullets a second in every direction except your own dosen't mean you can win. Well, actually, you can, but that gun dosen't exist.
So, in some cases, swordsmanship or whatever weaponship you have can outdo a gun, considering the gun weilder. If they know Gun Fu, you can get screwed big time. (Think Ultra Violet, Aeon Flux, Matrix, etc) Reason being, those who use a katana are more in tune with speed. If you're carrying a gun and running like a cheetah, the tunnel vision can cause your aim to slip. With a katana, all you've go to do is cut. Which is why this roleplay is centered around swords, naginata, spears, halberds, or whatever your goofy minds can think of as a weapon. For all I care, you can weild a fairy wand. However, just because you look like a panzy, dosen't make you a panzy.
Which brings me to my next thing. How To Be In Tune With Energy. Energy gives you the ability to break down the limits of your body, increase your speed to a blind pace, give you strength like 10,000 men, or just blow stuff up. So, thing Dragonball Z. If you've seen it. Most who like action anime have at least heard of it. So, in general, everyone can harness energy. But it takes major focus to encourage effects. To some, it's second nature. To others, they need to completely tune out to focus. However, there are some limits to what people can do. That's explained later.
Higher levels of energy are usually caused by being one with your soul and thus encouraging unnatural abilities coming from their bloodline or from personal god-knows-whats. This is referred to as whatever you want to call it. Overdrive, overpower, oversoul, overie, I don't care. For everyone, it's different. For example, while ones Oversoul causes them to get an inhuman boost of strength and allows them to crumble buildings with sheer might, anothers causes them to be able to weild fire, while anothers causes an increase in speed. It's completely personal. However, it is very hard to obtain, and even the best only experience it once.

So, we are about 3/4s into it. Now, you need to know about elements. Everyone can weild elements. But, it takes focus, and sometimes it takes the second level. The elements include whatever you can think of which can be considered an element. Fire, water, earth, lightning, wind. Advanced uses would be void, darkness, light, metal, and one which I call Chaos.
So, all elements can be learned, except for chaos. It's just that epic. So, let me tell you about it. Chaos is basically what it sounds like, but in your body. It takes you to a whole new level. It's unexplainable, really. Tell you what, only 2 people ever could weild chaos, that would be the leader of the Ten Powers, and the Leader of the past government. Only 2 can weild it now. If you just so happen to become one of the two, then I'll tell you.
So, the darkness, void, and metal elements. Those who weild darkness can create foul beasts from the darkness, big and small. For short, think Kingdom Hearts. Those who weild the metal element can also use electricity, but not lightning in general. They can only understand how something works with the power of electricity, but not electricity itself. Get it? Neither do I, but it'll make sence soon enough. So, metal weilders can craft swords, or make robots or cyborg parts, whatever you want. The Leader of New Dawn weilds darkness, for obvious reasons, and there is one person in ND who uses metal, while there is a TP offspring who also uses metal.
Now, for void. This element is unique in what it does. However, even if you are chosen to weild this element, chances are you probably won't master it. Which we all know, for the sake of the roleplay, you will. Void uses the mind to induce flux upon reality, thus opening a portal which can lead you to anywhere in the world. Most who use flux usually have great wisdom and insight. Flux users can also redirect the paths of objects, cause objects to implode, and create black holes. However, each and every one can be shut down if they are unconscious or asleep. And that pretty much wraps that up.

Ok, now the big one, races. Personally, I don't care what you want to be. Black, white, japanese, vampire, werewolf, etc, you can be whatever your little mind can think up as long as you can describe it. You can even make up an alien race, like 'Saiyans' or something, dosen't hurt me none. But it might in the future if our characters meet. Anywho, as long as you describe your characters races and make sure they aren't godmoddish with some instant regeneration or ability to blow stuff up with a tap of their finger, go crazy.

++Guidelines, Read It Dude--
Ok, I'm going to keep this short, sweet, and straight to the point. Anyway, I'm not even going to bother with full, thought out paragraphs that mean crap to the next 10 people. Careful though, those jokes are a doozy.
Epic posting is required for an epic roleplay, thus, literacy and up is required. At least three paragraphs (a seven sentence length) required in a font size of nine-ten. At least one paragraph with writers block.
As for cencorship, it'll be relatively common stuff. Cursing is allowed, but it should be toned down and sensible to the situation. Violence will occur of course, but nothing heavy and should be fairly mild. Romance is accepted but should remain PG-13.
Be epic with your characters! Creativity counts for everything, but anime-based characters are fine too, just retain your own ideas and creativity in there. Change some stuff up and make it fitting to the roleplay. There's a limit to two characters, but if you really want to go for it (and are capable), three characters is fine. As for pm titles, I don't care. As long as I see that you've got a literate profile, it's enough for me. Or, you could go ahead and post your profiles in the OOC thread.
As for God-moding, power-playing and those atrocious Mary-Sue's/Gary-Stue's, such horrid stuff along those lines will not be allowed.

++Requirements--
**All Examples Taken From Me From Other Roleplays, Two Made Up
Loved Posting Sizes Nothing ever stayed the same. There was always bound to be change to whatever life brought people. Friends, family, occupation, there was nothing that went unchanged. The same applies to this young Mafioso, whom lays in bed, not wanting to go to school. Just a few days ago, he had arrived from Italy to, well, test, the so-called Vigoria-X. Test him he did, and he is the right man for the job. That is why this young Italian - Japanese teenager has pledged to be the Right Hand Man to the 'Tenth' as he calls him. The Tenth in line to become the boss of the mafia known as The Vigoria. Whatever obstacles lied infront of him, surely Juin would be there to help him out. That was his job as the Family bosses Right Hand Man. To be there, and to be strong for the Tenth, no matter what happens.
All his life, Juin had been in Italy. Well, most, actually. He was born in Japan, but due to Mafia reasons, he was moved to Italy. There, he attended school, and there, he learned how to fight. He taught himself everything he knew, and he picked up some training from the people around him. It was awesome to be at his height of power. No doubt through, there were others far stronger than him out there. He needed to get stronger. He couldn't lose. It would shame the Tenth and the Vigoria name. He just couldn't do that. So, Juin pledged himself to get strong and stay on top of his game so that he could do his task.
As crimson eyes opened to the world, Juin slowly lifted himself up. He threw his covers off and looked about the room. It was dark. He squinted and rubbed his crimson orbs, as he got up and walked toward his shade in nothing but boxers. He twisted the handle which caused the shades to open, but the light was pretty intense. He closed one eye, but reopened it when he adjusted. Bluish-grey hair spiked backward, even after it was on a pillow. The best thing about his hair, it always seemed to fall into place. But, he would always comb it anyway. Heading toward the bathroom, he noticed his clock read 7:59, so there was no doubt he was late for school. He hoped in the bathroom and took a quick shower, brushed his teeth, and combed his hair.
When he got out, he arranged his clothes. A black, short-sleeved zip-up shirt with a slightly raised collar, baggy black jeans which hung over his ankle, and a pair of white shoes. A hip-hop inspired attire, nonetheless. Looking around, Juin grabbed a black fedora which had white stripes running from front to back. He placed it on his head, and pulled the front over his eyes, just enough so he could see infront of him without adjusting it. Straighting out his slightly wrinkled clothing, he grabbed his backpack and walked out the door of his large apartment, paid for by Vigoria themselves. There were some perks to being a mafioso, travel being one of them.
As he walked down the street, he wondered if the Tenth had accepted his fate as a boss, or if he was still not sure as to if he wanted to do it. He knew that it might be something like that, but maybe he should ask him now. He was, of course, standing only 5 feet away from him in the schoolyard.
"Hey, Tenth."
He called out to Kai, as he quickened his pace to catch up to him.
Required Posting Sizes Juin had heard the comment, but had ignored it. But, for as far as he was ahead, plus the constant wind against his ears, he had a pretty good excuse. Besides, if they didn't fly, then there was no way they would make it to school within the next 2 hours, considering how far Juin lived from the city. Out in the forest, away from civilization, so that he wouldn't have to put up with any sort of crap when he wanted to do his training.
"Well, if we arrive inbetween classes, we should get into 3rd block smoothly. But, chances are, we'll probably get written up for 'skipping'....."
Juin sarcastically said skipping, the way the teachers might have. They were nearing the city limits. It'd probably be a good idea to go down and run the rest of the way. He landed in an alleyway and looked around, making sure nobody saw. Good, he and Resiak were in the clear. Not to long after, the young Saiyan was sprinting down the street, looking at his watch. If he made it there before the bell, he could get to his next class easily. Considering he and Resiak shared all their classes, it'd be easier.
Getting into the school, Juin launched himself down the hallway. They were pretty much empty. However, he was dead tired, but had to keep going.
"I.....think....we're going to make it."
He said, as he stopped infront of the door. He whipped it open just in time for the bell, and launched himself in, puffing from exhaustion. He hadn't had to work like that in awhile. He went to his seat, throwing down his backpack, and looking around. Wow, he was tired.
Writers Block and Fight Scene Worthy Posting Size Sitting in the back car of the train on it's way to reactor 8 was none other than the AVALANCHE member known as Storm. Orange - blonde hair flaired backward as he crossed one leg, with one arm hanging on the iron of the seats. He has a scar going across his nose, for reasons only he knows, and he refuses to answer when anyone asks. Two rings hung on his left ear, and a pair of headphones hung over his neck, blasting rap music which could be heard all throughout the back of the car. A black jacket over a white tank-top, a pair of blue jeans with an orange patch on the back under the knee and buckles which seemed to connect that part to the jeans. Not to mention the infamous tan boots he wore with the outfit.
Storm had been air-tapping to the music, until he got up from his seat, and began to head to the next car up.
Annoying, But Accepted Posting Sizes Stretching his arms, Storm stood up and walked out the train, before coming to a full-on sprint toward the Reactor. His face had a nonchalant expression, probably because this seemed like childsplay with no enemies. Then again, the risk of there being enemies would be high. He readjusted his gloves from where he stuck his hand in, pulling down on the leather so that his fingers were near the tip. He wouldn't be caught off guard, not in this place, or ever again for that matter. He didn't worry about anyone infront, or behind him. Bt if it came to it, he would have to protect them.
Burned List Worthy Posting Sizes Storm sat there, thinking it over. Her face was trapped in his head. He was happy they survived, but not so much about letting that...'thing' get away. He didn't know what he / she / what it was, but he knew that it would probably turn out to be bad in later days.

++Self-Control, Buddy--
Ok, so, about Limits. Limits are what they sound like, a boundary, a wall, something that holds a person back from releasing their true potential. When a limit breaks down, it allows for their potential to be used to it's fullest. Like mentioned in the 3rd post, to break a limit, you need to focus and use energy. With the same energy used to break that limit, it can be used to upgrade yourself. Which causes the massive amounts of speed, strength, or all around goodness you feel afterward.
So, there are a few levels to your Limits, and I'll explain them from weakest to strongest.
Amateur Break
Cracking that barrier which holds you back, not much of a change except for wreckless violence. However, over time, that limit begins to crack more and you start gaining speed and strength. If not stopped, your rage will continue onward to your Master Break while the wreckless mindless violence continues. Anyway, Amateur Breaks are similar to constipation. You try to hard, it hurts, you explode. Well......maybe not constipation. Chances are if you Amateur Break, you tried to Master Break, but your mind snapped midway from to much focusing. Weak minds can probably never break unless it's this.
Changes
No pupils in your eyes, as well as an blue aura like flame, noticably untamable and unstable. Aggresive, almost uncontrollable, randomly attacking anyone and everyone.
Master Break
Ah, the Master Break. The basic (for those with strong minds). Master Breaks cut down your limit and cause an instant speed and strength increase. Not only that, but you gain the ability to intake energy as it swirls around you. Simple, no? Yes, it is. When you gain complete Mastery over the Master Break, the next time you attempt to do it, you will feel a change.
Changes
Physical changes include the hair turning upward, unless tied down. An blue aura will build up like a rising flame, unlike the wild one of the Amateur break. Strength and speed increase drastically, just about 10 fold, maybe more to those with more skill.
Ultra Break
When you've taken your Master Break to it's own limit of strength where it can't go any farther, you enable yourself to double that power over. Ultra Breaks are similar to that of....well....a Super Saiyan 2 state. Excuse my geekiness, but DBZ seems to carry the best references. Your power doubles, if not triples from the massive increase. However, unlike the Master Break, it dosen't lead into the next Break.
Changes
Same as the last break, with other changes which are up to the person. Speed and strength double over.
Omni Break (As I call it)
Remember up in the Third post about the Oversoul, overbreak, overdrive, and etc? Well, this is it. It's not like the other breaks, its a whole different limit break all together, and it will give you extraordinary, supernatural powers. By breaking the limit between the body, the soul, and the mind, thus giving it it's name (Omni means all, and your breaking all the limits), and thus you can obtain a much greater break. It is similar to 2 Ultra Breaks, but theres a side dish. When you Omni Break, you can also weild your element. Such as fire. But, it gains a massive boost. After you Omni Break and exit the same form, you will have a much better mastery over your element then ever, considering it's not Void or something, which is truely hard. So, think Akuma from Street Fighter, an all powerful figure which can massacre you. Now, this form does not lead to any others and is supposed to be the head break, but there is another one.
Changes
Looks like Ultra Break, but their element is present somewhere near the body. Speed and strength double over from Ultra Break.
Kami Break
Kami Break is a special case only available to those with the Chaos element. You know Akuma from Street Fighter, right? Well, this ain't him. This Break would reverse his Super Move, shove it's foot up his a**, and make him explode interiorly. This form is so great, the only word to explain it is epic. EPIC!!!!! Well, I may describe this some day, or I may not. Depends on if I feel like.
