“Alicia!! Alicia!! Get up! Get up!” Alicia could feel herself being bounced and someone jumped on the bed. Alicia managed a ‘What?!’ before rolling over to locate the corporate. Haku was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at her excitedly. “Come on, Alicia! You have to hurry or it will be ruined!!”
“What are we doing?” Alicia asked and she rolled herself out of her warm blankets. She shuffled herself over to her wardrobe. Haku jumped up and ran over. “You will need something warm.” He started going through her dresses. Then he pulled out a long pants and long sleeved shirt set. They were a dark blue and the trimming was done in silver. Alicia shrugged, took the cloths, and started shuffling to the hallway where she would change. Haku let out an impatient breathe and placed his hand on Alicia’s lower back and pushed her into jogging to the door.
Alicia dressed herself in a few minutes. She pulled her hair into a messy braided and walked back into her room. Haku was standing by the door holding a jacket out for her. Slowly Alicia turned her head to look outside; there was no sunlight. “What time is it?!” Haku’s rely was a hurried, ‘early’ as he helped Alicia into the jacket.
“Warm?” Alicia nodded. “Good.” Haku took her by the hands and quickly led her down the hallway to a window. When he got close, he swooped Alicia into his arms and jumped. Alicia was awoken as soon as the icy air filled her lungs. She felt alive as she started to fall toward the ground and only had time to worry for a few moments before she felt Haku changing under her. He became an elegant, strong dragon who laced around Alicia before sliding under her.
Quickly she arranged herself so that she could hold onto Haku’s horns. Then Haku took off, heading for one of the Labyrinths protection walls. Through mind, Haku checked on Alicia and made sure she was nice and warm. She said was and that she was enjoying herself. Slyly he replied that this was nothing, the best was still coming.
After flying around and drifting lazily, Haku landed on a tall stone wall. There he changed back into a human and caught Alicia before she fell on her butt. Carefully he lowered her down so that she could sit down. Then he arranged himself next to her.
“Haku, what are you doing? This is all fun but, I don’t even know what time it is.” Haku just looked over to her, put his finger to his lips, and then pointed toward the horizon. “Oh” The horizon has started to brighten with bright colors. Starting with a ruby red and brightening into a pumpkin orange, the sun started it’s coming into the morning sky.
Alicia felt at peace as she watched the sun slowly pull itself into the sky. It wasn’t long before she had her head resting on Haku’s shoulder and she started to doze off. Haku just smiled and rested his head on top of hers. He waited until the sun was warm against his skin and the color show was dimming before he carefully scooped Alicia up and flew her home. Once there, he placed her back in bed, tucked her in, and whispered a “rest well.”
