Okay, I know this was due on Halloween, but I was slacking off. xd
I’m not really a fan of Halloween related stuff like costumes or candy or tricks, but I do ADORE pumpkins, and any occasion to use more of ‘em are very much appreciated. whee I was browsing through Obachan's amazing blog, and found this Japanese recipe. I read the kanji, sort of roughly translated the rest and guessed my way through, it wasn't that difficult with the step by step photos. They turned out like this~
The colour’s a little off and the cookies don’t look so orangey in this one, I was rushing to watch CSI NY. sweatdrop The ones in the next photo look much better, strange though, since I took them at the same spot.
Here they are cooling on the wire rack.
The cookies are more cakey than crisp, I think it was because the vegan margarine I used became oily instead of fluffy when I creamed it. Oh, and the original recipe called for pumpkin seeds for the 'stems'. The little pumpkin I used for the puree had only a meagre amount of seeds, so I didn't bother roasting them. I subbed cloves instead. They don't look as pretty as Obachan's of course, I'll have to improve some more.
