Band of Thieves Chapter 1.

I was running for my life. Wasn't any diffrent form any other day but this time I was alone. I chose to do this on my own and now I was paying for it. I ran up another flight of stairs the moon shining brightly through a window. I heard the sound of the cops as I ran.

I turned a cornor and burst through the door to find myself on the roof. I spun around and the cops were there. No turning back now.

"We finnaly got you Prince of thieves" one said. Despite the situation I laughed at my nickname. I stared at them then laughed out loud.

"You'll never catch the prince of theives" I said spreading my arms. I let myself fall and I fell through the building literaly passing thorugh. I kept going until everything started fading to black.

My eyes snapped open and I thought I was still being chased. I sat straight up drenched in sweat and realized I was back in our hideout slash home. I shook my head to wake up some. I showered quickly and dressed in my usual garb of dark shirt and blue jeans.

My name is the prince of theives but my friends call me Phase. Reason why?? I can walk through walls and what not. Most of us could. Well not walk through walls but we had powers. We were the Phantom Thieves. We stole from the rich or museums and then sold it for our own family. We were all orphans with these powers. Never knew how we got them or why. We just use them to support eachother.

I began by waking up the coven. I went first to the twins Flare and X-Ray. The only ones out of us related by blood. The rest of us are just a foster family me being the leader. They had one bed they shared. They were both about...what eight now?

I pulled the covers down and shook Flare. "Hey wake up" I whispered in her ear. "You lived to steal another day" She smiled groggily opening her eyes. Her brother woke up about half a second later.

"Hey Phase" he said. I smiled helping them both out of the tangled mass that was their bed. They followed me out holding hands. They had that really close twin relationship and were almost never apart. Flare could emit large blinding blast of light from her eyes. Good for a get away. X-Ray. Self explantory. God knows what his teenage years will be like.

We walked through the living room and into the kitchen.

We could smell food being cooked and I knew someone beat me awake. We walked into the kitchen and saw silver hair fly through the air. Echo was moving back and forth betwean the table, the counter, and the fridge moving like the wind dressed in her usual white.

"Morning guys" she said noticing us a flashing a brillant smile. I smiled back slightly dazed then snapped back to reailty.

What can I say she had that effect on some of us. She had excellent hearing but could also blast people away or break things with her voice. Perfect for the opera house.

As I was thinking I felt my self walk into something."Oh sorry,Shade" I said sheepishly kicking my self for lack of paying attention.

"No problem Phase" he said. He already had his black hoodie and sweats on. Shade was about a year younger then me making him fourteen? He could turn invisible when standing in shadows. Not good to walk around at night with him around.

The hair on the back of my neck stood on end and I immediatly turned around. No one was there. I frowned my eye twitching slightly."Faint stop" I said angrily. I heard gigling then arms drapped over my back as she kissed my cheek making me blush. Goddamn hormones!

"Aw your no fun Phase" she giggled. Faint was the same age as me and Echo. She loved to sneak up on people while she was invisible. Also she was my best friend. Sorta. It was more then that but not exactly boy friend, girl friend. Come back to me when I work it out.

"Come on Faint" I said shrugging her off my shouldars. Honestly I could have left her there because she barely weighs anything but the others, Shade, wouldn't let me live it down. So we walked back.

I noticed she was dressed in a dark blue blouse that was cut off at the shouldars and one of her red skirts with the really long socks. She had her hair down today which was short framing her head. I groaned inwardly. I really wished she wouldn't do this to me. She knew how much I liked that look.

She also had the heart pendent we both kept on us at all times. It was something we had from when we were kids. I had one which was under my shirt. Inside was her picture and inside hers was my picture. We got had them after we got seperated when we were kids. We kept them so we always had the other with us.

We were the last to join at the table. I sat down and looked around. "Hey where's Rogue?" I asked. Rogue was one of the three of us who first made the coven along with me and Faint and as if on cue he came in through the doorway. Rogue was dressed in all black and ready like the rest of us his bandana pulled down below his mouth.

The moment they sat down we all dug into our food. The room was filled with the sound of food being bit into and swalloed or milk being drank. After about a minute Shade broke the silence.

"So what's are next target oh fearless leader?" Shade asked sarcastic as always. Everyone snickered which would normally piss me off but not today.

"Haha" I said. "Take a look at this" I said putting a newspaper on the table. It was today's paper. The head line read: The Phantom Thieves Strike Again.

"Hey it's us" Ray said grabbing the paper. "Hey they caught my good side" We all laughed with that one.

"No Ray, this" I said pointing at the next page. It showed a picture of a diamond but it was the biggest diamond you ever saw with hundreds of facets.

"Whoa" was all they could muster. Echo and Faint's eyes were dazzaled thinking of all the things they could buy with that.

"Isn't this thing gonna be heavily guarded?" Shade pointed out.

"Duh" I said grinning. "That's the fun part. It's the heaviest guarded thing we've ever gone after"

"Alright" Rogue said. "So who goes?" Always getting to the heart of the matter. Rogue always asked first.

"I was thinkin all of us but then who stays to watch the house?" I asked. Since we were famous we always had to make sure someone stayed behind in case our hide out was found.

"Rock, papers scissors shoot!" we said together. Cause no one really wants to miss a mission.After close to five rounds Shade lost. He was pissed. Haha serves him right.

He swore to himself before walking off to his room to catch some z's. I grabbed my pack and looked outside. Dark. It was about 10:00 p.m. Good. Our sleeping habits were screwed. We went to sleep about 1:00 a.m. after a mission then woke back up around 9:00 a.m. ate then back to sleep. It's a thief thing.

I went out the door via walk through walls and waited for everyone else to join me. I took a deep breath enjoying the air. We lived out in the country. Sorta. We livied next to a city but way out on the outskirts. It's amazing we have any electricty at all or any of the crap we have around here. It's great.

"Nice view" I started our of my thoughts yet again as they sat next to me.

"Oh. Yeah Echo" I said scratching my head. Echo was amazing. She was nice, smart, funny, plus had a good body to boot. And here we go again!

"You ever wonder why we got these powers, Phase?" Echo asked which threw me off. I thought about for a minute before I came out with my own answer to the question I gave myself a long time ago.

"I...I think we have them for a reason. But we dont know why yet. But we should just keep going through life like always cause when we find that reason it'll probbaly be our new life" I said. "Wow that sounded pretty deep, but don't worry I don't see that happening for a few years" I smiled at her showing her I was kidding. She smiled back laughing.

"Well look at this little scene" Shade said walking up with the twins. Who might I add were trying to hide the fact that they were snickering. Little demons. I stood up and tossed a dirt clog at X-Ray. He got nailed in the head.

"Oh now you're going down" X-Ray said. He jumped at me takling me to the ground. We rolled around laughing together before I pinned him to the ground. "Alright uncle, uncle" he cried out with a huge grin. Faint joined us at some point cause I heard her laughing with Flare and Rogue.

"So we ready?" I asked sitting up. Everyone had their packs with them fully dressed.

"Yep"

"Mmhm"

"Yeah"

"Sure"

"...."

"Let's go!"

"Alright! Let's go thieves!"
