Chapter 9

Okay we are now in the city of I don't know. As far as I know we were in Idaho. And if you make the joke so help me I'm stabbing you in the jaw! Threats aside we were in a pretty good hotel. I think the best one here. Thank god for forsight and planning. If I wasn't succesful as leader we'd be in the streets or a jail cell.

When we got into town in it was bright and sunny. Now it was raining again. It was like the rain system we had earlier followed us here but turned into a downpour. It had been close to two hours and it was still raining effectivaly keeping us in for the day.

"So what do we do?" Ray asked sprawked in the bed.

"Hell if I know" Shade said sprawled right next to him.

"Wanna explore the hotel?" I suggested. Best idea I had at the moment. We really needed to buy a pack of cards.

"Alright" Ray said getting up. "How bout you Shade?"

"Nah" he said grabbing a pillow. "I think I'll catch some z's."

"Suit yourself then" I said opening the door. Rogue was gone. No idea where. Didn't really care.

The hotel was pretty big. There were about twenty rooms upstairs and down. Course we had no real idea on how big a hotel was so it was big by our low stardards.

It also turns out this place had a pool. We walked in looking around. There was only two other people in there. One was a girl looking about twelve and some guy who was asleep with a magazine on his head.

Ray quickly pulled of his shirt, rolled up his pants legs and jumped in the water. I shook my head and let my feet soak in the water. Ray dove then resurfaced a few minutes later. "Hey Phase look" he said pointing outside.

I looked and nearly fell in the water. Rogue was outside but he was surrended by an entourage of girls. Now I admit Rogue was a pretty decent looking guy but this was unusual. He normaly tried to avoid the fairer sex. Tho there was that one girl back home but that was awhile ago.

He glanced at us pulled down his bandana and mouthed "help me!" We both laughed shaking our heads. He muttered something I won't repeat. Let's just say it was funny. We were laughing our heads off as we walked off drying ourselves off.

We came back to our suit and quickly woke Shade. The moment we told him we were all laughing and rolling on the ground. The door opened and Rogue came in. We stopped and looked up at him and we started laughing all over again.

The rain had let up for a while so we made our move to continue our cross country
trip. At every stop we made we always repacked our food and other items. We found a store that we stopped at before we started crossing the street to get to the courntry side.

Ray was the second to last one to cross as a car came. The guy saw him but because of the rain couldn't stop. So I did what my instinct told me. I ran forward pushing Ray forward out of the cars path. As I saw him fall to safety I felt the car hit me.

Everything went dark as I heard the car screech to a halt and the others gather around me yelling my name. I let my eyes drift close to rest. Just for a second.
