Chapter 7

For the next three days me and Yumi had staged dozens of raids on rival gangs stealing their stuff and wiping them out. It turns out Yumi was normal. She was just amazingly strong and fast. She also had good eyesight. Very useful in our nightly escapades.

Every night we talked a lot. She told me about what happened and how this whole mess started. I told her about my life with everyone else. She was pretty cool. I could tell that she was trustworrthy. She just felt right.

On the fourth morning the guys were starting to get supsious. I had snuck back into my bed that night when suddenly the lights were one. I squeezed my eyes shut as I opened them a slit.

"Okay spill it leader" Shade said. Shade, Rogue, and X-Ray were in the room.

"Spill what?" I asked drowsy.

"You've been disappering after dinner and coming back really late." Shade said pointing at Rogue. Rorgue held up his hands and shaking his head. So Shade made him do it.

"Wasn't it you who said we couldn't keep secrets from each other" X-ray piped in. I sighed. They weren't gonna go with out an answer. Fortunatetly Yumi and me had come up with a solution for this sitaution already.

"Fine. I've been secretly stealing while we've been staying her to help us out" I said. I hated lying to these guys unless it was for their own good. But this time I wasn't really lying. I was stealing and I considered Yumi to be one of us already.

"Is that all?" Shade said felling deflated. "Man you didn't have to hide that from us"

"Yeah but I was going to use the money for something special for the coven" I said. "But unless you want to tell everyone and ruin the suprise"

"No no we'll keep quiet!" X-ray shouted.

"Alrighty then. Goodnight" I said turning the light off and rolling over.

Today was a good day. Today was the day Yumi confrorted the gang and payed off her debt. We met up at about noon to go. Of course I wasn't going to go see them. I was going to watch from my ledge like the first time.

She walked in handing the money to the leader. The leader looked from the money to her then did the one thing we didn't see coming.

He ripped the money in half. Yumi yelled at him but he slapped her across the face making her fall to the ground. Those guys had saw me help her get the money and said it didn't work that way. I clenched my fist and jumped through the broken window and slugged the guy in the face.

"Sorry Yumi" I whispered. "Couldn't help myself" She shook her head wiping her mouth standing up.

"Don't mention it I woulda done the same thing" she said. As we spoke the gang which was about twnety guys started grabbing weapons and surronding us. "Now our problem is how we get out of here"

"That's the thing" the gang leader said. "You're not. We're gonna show you you're place you little b***h! And while we're at it kill your boyfriend! Get em boys!"

We braced ourselves for a fight when the other windows broke in as the room was filled with blinding light. In that amount of time the light cleared I figured out who it was at once. My theives had come to find help us. Problem was how'd that find us.

"Well theives let's fight!" I yelled as we began to fight our way through the group of gangbangers. "So how'd you find me" I said to Shade who had my back at the moment.

"We had Rogue track you. I mean you're excuse was so lame man. You doing extra work to do something special for us. Come on" he said.

"Alright you got me" I said laughing. The fight lasted all of twenty seconds more before it was over. We came out unscathed while the other guys were groaning and moaning in pain on the ground..

"We should go" Echo said.

"Why?" Yumi asked.

"Because we told the cops before we came here" Flare said her usual cheerfullness showing. As we spoke the sirens became clear.

"Now you tell me!" I yelled as we scattered back to the hotel.

"So you've been helping Yumi pay off her debt for the past three days" Echo said.

"Yeah" I said nodding. We were in my room talking over what we had been doing.

"And why'd you feel the need to hide this from us?" Rogue asked.

"Because it was bad enough that I knew" I told them. "Plus I didn't want to risk you guys getting hurt"

"Whatever" Shade said. "It's been said and done and we all benifted from it"

"True" I said nodding. "Everything good on your in?"

"Never better" Yumi said smiling.

"Excellent" I said. "Well guys saddle up, time to move out"

"What why?" Yumi asked.

"We've been here too long as it is" I said. "Don't worry Yumi-chan. We'll keep in touch. Who knows we may see each other again"

She blushed bright red when I called her Yumi-chan. I'd read enough manga to know the importance of the suffix.

"S-sure!" she said to me leaving the room.

I grinned shaking my head.

Oh and for those of you non manga readers adding -chan meens I was calling her cute.
