(k this is chapter 2. I got th eidea for this story after reading a fanfiction for Miroku and Sango >_< yes i am a nerd... k well anywayz here's chapter 2. Enjoy ^_^)
This was crazy, even if she new who the thief was, odds were she would never see him again. Arisa pounded the wall in frustration. "Damn it!" she thought as she silently wandered through the now deserted alley. It was dark out and the men who had attempted to mug her were gone.
"What 's the use of having been trained by the top assassins in the business, if I fall for a stupid trick like this."
She sighed, disgusted by her stupidity. Earlier that evening, she had been on her way back from her meeting, when she noticed there was a man lying in the alley, looking like he was hurt. For the first time in her life, Arisa actually felt sympathy for someone. "I'm going soft." She thought, hating herself even more. She had gone over to him and asked him if he was all right. He sprang up, knocking her to the ground, and then two other men came to assist him. Arisa was able to knock out two of them, but one had her pinned to the wall, trying to get her to hand over her jewelry. The only piece she ever wore was the amulet from her mother, and she wasn't about to give it up without a fight. Arisa kicked at him, swearing all kinds of profanity at the man, and he tried to cover her mouth. Then, there was a thud as he fell to the ground. In place, was another man. He was tall and the hood of his floor length cloak covered his face. He took a step forward, placing his hands on either side of her, resting them against the wall. When he did this, his hood fell, revealing shocking violet eyes and ivory colored hair, a sharp contrast to Arisa's own black hair. Arisa's breath caught in her throat.
"Are you alright?"
All Arisa could manage was a weak nod. A sly smile curved the young man's lips as he pushed his face closer to her, and one of his fingers traced the scratch that covered one of her eyes.
"Good. You know you have to be careful if you're out at night by yourself. Especially in a place like this."
Arisa didn't know what to do; her mind was in frenzy. So much so that she didn't even noticed his hand undoing the clasp on her necklace. With a wink, he took a step back and ran out of the alley. Only after he left, did Arisa realize what he had done. Running out the alley, she looked out in the thinning evening crowd, but the thief was nowhere in sight. When she went back to the alley, the other men were gone too. Had it all been a set up?
"Well duh of course it had," she chided herself.
And that's where we find her now, alone and out a necklace. She swore under her breath.
"This is just great, I finally get it back, and what do I do? I lose it."
Disgusted beyond any curse could even begin to describe, Arisa made her way through evening crowd, hoping to get indoors before it got too late. As she walked, she thought of all the horrible things she could possibly do to the man once she found him. The sky that had once been so clear was now covered with threatening rain clouds.
"Great, could this day get any worse?"
With a sigh, Arisa made her way back to the tavern where she had a room rented. The sooner she found that thief and got out of this town, the better.
